Training

In order to become a full member of the NASC and be able to participate in interviews and college fairs, we ask that you first complete our online training program. It is essential for NASC volunteers to have the most up-to-date information about Johns Hopkins and to understand the role they play in the admissions process before interacting with prospective students. The training program consists of three videos:
  • Representing Johns Hopkins
  • The Undergraduate Experience
  • Participating in the NASC

To start your NASC training now, select a video module by clicking on its icon below. The videos are relatively large, but anyone with a high-speed connection (DSL/Cable) should be able to download them in less than five minutes. If you have a less than speedy Internet connection, click here to order a DVD copy. When ordering a DVD copy, please be sure to include your name and mailing address in your e-mail message and remember that you will need a DVD player to view the training.

After reviewing the videos and our online handbook, you must submit the NASC Quiz & Questionnaire, which will notify us that you have completed your training. Once we receive confirmation that you have reviewed the training materials, we will add your name to our list of active members for the year and you will receive a link to the new online NASC handbook that you can print from your own computer. The handbook will be your resource for information all year long as you go about your NASC duties.

To watch the videos in your browser window, click on the thumbnail image or the title of the video. If you wish to download the video files to your computer for offline viewing, right-click on the link (control-click if using a Mac) and choose to save the file.
